The Katima Mulilo Town Council’s Office of the Chief Executive Officer (OCEO), established under Section 28(1) of the Local Authority Act (23 of 1992) as amended, is the council’s highest administrative office.
The Office is headed by a Chief Executive Officer / Accounting Officer who is appointed in terms of Section 27(1)(a) of the Act.
The OCEO is entrusted with strategic planning, policy implementation, and overall administrative management. Core responsibilities include budget management, coordinating municipal services, guiding elected officials, and ensuring strict adherence to laws and regulations.
The OCEO plays a pivotal role in promoting the effective functioning and comprehensive development of the local government, addressing diverse community needs.
Supporting this office, three divisions operate under the OCEO, each led by a functional head: Division Legal, Bilateral & Corporate Communications; Procurement Management Unit, overseeing the supply chain management; and Internal Audit, ensuring internal auditing, good governance, and policy compliance.
